The Ambulance Memorial Planning Committee are now pleased to be able to confirm that Thursday 16th September, 2010 (including the use of the 'Chapel of Peace') has now been formally booked with the National Memorial Arboretum for the next re-union. Please reserve this date and make contact with us if you would like to be included in any pre-event mail drops.
We are also pleased to be able to confirm that we now have 'uniformed' members of staff to undertake all of the roles for the next service (including a Service piper this time).
Would you or a member of your Service or Retirement Association like to lay a wreath at the 2010 Memorial? If so, the Secretary will need to have your name and details of who you will be representing by mid-August, 2010 (at the very latest). Details not received by this closing date will not be accommodated in the 'order of service'.
Please remember, its your Memorial so all are welcome to attend. We would love to see you there.
Dress Code: Uniform (if applicable) and service medals (with or without uniform)
(Simon Fermor, Harry Goulding, Trevor Shelbourne & Cliff Randall)
Why not Become a 'Memorial Site Friend'?
By becoming a 'Memorial Site Friend' you would be helping to ensure, through a regular subscription, that the Ambulance Services National Memorial and Garden of Remembrance continues to flourish and that its successfully reflects the rightful pride we have in the Ambulance Service and in honouring our fallen colleagues. We believe the Memorial stands as a fitting and lasting tribute, but both the garden and the Memorial requires a planned maintainance programme. We would urge you to become a 'Memorial Site Friend' so this historic site can be maintained and preserved for future generations to enjoy, thank you.
Simon Fermor, on behalf of the Memorial Committee.
